Vocational training of the project

The method addresses dancers, educators in social work, medical doctors, teachers, psych-therapists and sports people. Meetings are in the form of seminars held monthly at the Movimento Centrale. These are conducted by Gillian Hobart in collaboration with Dr. Cavaliere and assisted by the staff of Movimento Centrale, namely Monica Tomasetti, Isabella Piva, Milena Giorgetti, Manuela Graziani, Roberta Lepore (principal dance teacher) and Claudio Gasparotto, who is dancer-choreographer and organizer of the Hobart Method course as well as Director of the Movimento Centrale.

The aim is to promote research in dance-movement and the discipline of dance and choreography in order to create a reasonable and possible means of combining personal and social interests for future educators in the Hobart Method.

Formative Objectives of the Project

To train educators in the Hobart Method

To provide means of awareness and knowledge of the educational benefits in dance and music

To promote integration of the general rules of the Hobart Method, encompassing personal and social interests

To initiate and stimulate research throughout the course into the diverse areas of dance-movement, in alignment with art-medicine-education

In questa prospettiva le tre aree di attività del centro – formazione, produzione, sociale – concorrono, pur nelle diverse specificità, a costruire una cultura che investe la danza, lo sport e il disagio sociale legato alla comunicazione.
